Hummus for Humankind!

The myriad benefits of chickpeas - who knew they could be so good?

Stuff of hummus and falafel, beloved by vegetarians for their protein sans animal harm, requiring fewer resources to grow, AND they nitrogen-fix to replenish the soil and enable farmers to use fewer chemical and other fertilizers?  Win, win, win!

Always good to get affirmation of a lifestyle choice.  The switch to veggie hasn't always been easy, but it hasn't been all that difficult either.  It started with flipping channels and stopping on "Blackfish" one New Year Day, which begat a sense of guilt over childhood trips to Sea World and the feeling of somehow being complicit, leading to some soul searching to find any other areas of complicity, the recognition that vegetarianism had long been more aligned with "true north" and "I just could never give up meat" rang hollow without never having tried, and the experiment to at least try ... has turned into a now 4.5 year experiment.  Not bad.
